The purpose of this program is to assist those businesses that will create new investments and jobs in the City of Mission and/or its extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) with off-site improvements.
The Mission Economic Development Authority (MEDA) may provide off-site improvements to Mission businesses for projects eligible under the program and on the availability of funds.
MEDA has appropriated funds from the 1/2 cent sales tax for economic development to subsidize off-site improvements made by Mission Businesses.
A project may include any infrastructure improvement to a project including water, sewer and road extensions to a site and drainage improvements of a manufacturing or industrial enterprise located in Mission and/or its ETJ.
All businesses will be required to submit their current financial statements and proof of project costs.
A Mission business interested in obtaining assistance for Off-Site Improvements for a project should submit a commitment letter to MEDA. The letter should include the name of the business requesting assistance, a business plan showing total project costs, improvements, number of jobs that will be created, off-site improvement costs, projected sales (for commercial enterprises) and projected annual sales tax.
MEDA's Commercial or Industrial Development Committee will review the project and will make a recommendation to the MEDA Board of Directors for approval. MEDA will notify the business in writing as to MEDA's decision. If approved, MEDA will make direct payments to the business as per terms.
